System detection

The tennis court is divided in four basic area's with three functional area's: Service box, Single Playing and Double playing area. Each playing area is monitored by detection electronics to record in or out information. They begin transmitting data as soon as the ball has touched the court surface. The TEL detection is a combination of electro magnetic detection and video detection. The electro-magnetic detection covers the in and out area, whilst the video detection provides information on the position of the ball and ball bounce outside the sensed zone. Each playing area contains it's own specific electronics, which are located in a small slot underneath the net, near the net post (on either side of the net). Serial line communication is connected with the TEL Handheld computer.
